FWISD Adds “Meals to Go” locations and Breakfast Meals for Students During Closure
The Fort Worth ISD, and its food service vendor SODEXO Magic, have added two additional feeding locations to serve children during the extended school closure prompted by the coronavirus. In addition the District will also now begin serving breakfast meals in addition to lunch.
Superintendent Kent P. Scribner announced last Friday that the District’s Child Nutrition Services Department and SODEXO will provide healthy “to go” meals for children who rely on eating each day in the school cafeteria.
In addition to the eight original locations announced to feed children, the District is now providing meals at Como Montessori School and Polytechnic High School. Lunch at Como Montessori will begin on Wednesday, March 18. Lunch at Poly High will begin on Tuesday, March 17.
Breakfast will be served at all locations beginning Wednesday, March 18 but that breakfast is intended for consumption the following morning.
Parents may not pickup meals for children at any of the now ten FWISD feeding locations without their children being present. Children, however, will be issued meals if they arrive unaccompanied.
