FWISD Accepts Two-Way Dual Language Applications for 2020-21School Year
Apply today for Fort Worth ISD’s pre-kindergarten and kindergarten Two-Way Dual Language programs for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Applications are being accepted through June 12 for PK-K English proficient students who want to become bilingual and biliterate. Notifications for students accepted into the program go out the week of June 22. Students for the program will be selected randomly.
Xavier Vásquez, director of FWISD’s Elementary Bilingual/ESL program, said “dual language programs are proven to give students many advantages including greater problem-solving abilities, high academic scores, increased creativity, and a love for learning. Learning in two languages sets students up for global leadership and success.” Additionally, students learn to communicate in a new language and appreciate other cultures, he said.
