FWISD Announces 28 Meals To Go Sites For Virtual Learners
Meals To Go breakfast and lunch for Fort Worth ISD virtual learners will be available at 28 convenient District curbside sites, beginning the week of October 12.
The week’s first Meals To Go pickup is Tuesday, October 13 since there are no classes for students on Monday, October 12 because of a fall break holiday. Meals may only be picked up the at 28 designated curbside locations. Times vary by location for pickup.
Twice weekly on Monday and Thursday mornings, FWISD students participating in virtual learning may pick up a combination of breakfast and lunch meals at any of the 28 designated meal pickup sites. On Monday, meals for the week’s first three days will be distributed. To-go meals for Thursday and Friday will be distributed on Thursdays. On days in which the District is closed for holidays, pickup service will resume the next open school day.
The FWISD Board of Education has approved a hybrid model of in-person instruction for the District’s high schools in which students are split into two groups that will alternate two days of in-person and two days of virtual education. The two cohorts would then attend school every other Friday.
High school student cohorts attending class are eligible for breakfast and lunch meals and may pick those meals up on campus or at curbside Meals to Go sites. Specific instructions are available at each high school campus.
