FWISD celebrates National Special Education Day

Fort Worth ISD joins school districts across the country in celebrating National Special Education Day on Dec. 2.

President Gerald Ford signed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act on Dec. 2, 1975, and opened doors for children with disabilities in the education system. The law requires public schools to accommodate children with special education needs.

At FWISD, we know that all students must succeed for this district to succeed. We are grateful every day for the educators and staff who help us serve our special education students, which make up 11% of our student population.
