How to Watch: Seven FWISD Girls Basketball Teams Qualify for UIL Playoffs

Fort Worth ISD will be well represented in the 2024 UIL Girls Basketball Playoffs. Seven FWISD teams qualified for the playoffs, including four teams in 4A and three teams in 5A. Arlington Heights won District 6-5A and Dunbar won District 9-4A. O.D. Wyatt and Southwest made the playoffs out of District 6-5A while Eastern Hills, Western Hills and Benbrook all qualified for the playoffs out of District 9-4A. 

Arlington Heights takes on Azle in the bi-district round on Monday, Feb. 12 at Chisholm Trail High School. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. and the winner of this game will face the winner of Argyle and Burleson Centennial at the end of this week. 

O.D. Wyatt faces Aledo in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Monday, Feb. 12 at Saginaw High School. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. and the winner of this game will face the winner of Mansfield Timberview and Lake Dallas in the area round. You can watch O.D. Southwest claimed the final playoff spot in District 6-5A and will face Brewer in the bi-district round of the playoffs Monday, Feb. 12 at Wilkerson Greines Activity Center. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. and the winner of this game will face the winner of Colleyville Heritage and Midlothian Heritage in the area round. 

In 4A, the district champion Dunbar Wildcats will face Ferris in the bi-district round Monday, Feb. 12 at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the winner will face the winner of Irving North Hills Prep and Van Alstyne in the area round. Dunbar’s district winning streak currently sits at over 40 games. The Wildcats hope to ride that momentum all the way to San Antonio for the state tournament.

Eastern Hills finished as the runner-up in District 9-4A with a 10-2 record. The Highlanders take on Kennedale in the bi-district round Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Mansfield High School. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the winner will face the winner of Oak Cliff Faith Family and Aubrey in the area round. 

Benbrook took third place in District 9-4A and faces Alvarado Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Arlington ISD Athletic Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and the winner takes on the winner of Anna and Hampton Prep in the area round. 

Western Hills claimed the final playoff spot out of District 9-4A and takes on Godley in the bi-district round Monday, Feb. 12 at Burleson Centennial High School. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the winner faces the winner of Frisco Panther Creek and Summit International Prep in the area round. 

Fort Worth ISD wishes the best of luck to all of its seven women’s basketball teams that qualified for the playoffs! Regardless of bi-district round results, the hard work and determination it took for these teams to make the playoffs is to be celebrated and commended! The district looks forward to watching all of these awesome teams compete in the 2024 UIL Playoffs!
