Three FWISD Girls Basketball Teams Advance to Area Round

Three Fort Worth ISD girls basketball teams advanced to the area round! Arlington Heights is moving on in the 5A bracket, while Dunbar and Eastern Hills are still representing FWISD in the 4A bracket. Fort Worth ISD congratulates Arlington Heights, Dunbar and Eastern Hills on its bi-district championships and advancing to the area round!

Arlington Heights eliminated Azle 52-37 on Monday night. The Yellow Jackets used a fourth quarter scoring outburst to pull away for the big win. Arlington Heights takes on Argyle on Friday, Feb. 16 in the area round. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. at Eaton High School. Argyle eliminated Burleson Centennial 68-27 in the bi-district round. The winner of this game will face the winner of Colleyville Heritage and Brewer in the regional quarterfinals next week.

Dunbar eliminated Ferris 66-40 on Monday night in what was a dominating performance from start to finish. The Wildcats raced out to a 23-7 lead and never looked back in the 26 point win. Dunbar faces Van Alstyne on Thursday, Feb. 15 in the area round. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. at Irving MacArthur High School. Van Alstyne eliminated North Hills Prep 82-10 in the bi-district round. The winner of Dunbar’s game with Van Alstyne will face the winner of Frisco Panther Creek and Godley in next week’s regional quarterfinals.

Eastern Hills eliminated Kennedale 42-35 for its first bi-district championship in more than 20 years. The Highlanders take on Oak Cliff Faith Family on Friday, Feb. 16 in the area round. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Grand Prairie High School. Faith Family eliminated Aubrey 54-50 in the bi-district round. The winner of Eastern Hills and Faith Family will advance to face the winner of Anna and Alvarado in the regional quarterfinals. 

Fort Worth ISD is proud of all three of its girls basketball teams that won bi-district championships! The district can’t wait to watch these outstanding teams compete in the area round and wishes Arlington Heights, Dunbar and Eastern Hills the best of luck against worthy opponents!
