4 FWISD Girls Basketball Teams Advance to Area Playoffs
Four FWISD girls’ basketball teams are advancing to the next round of playoffs.
"Four of seven teams were victorious and advanced to the Area Round-Arlington Heights, Benbrook, Dunbar and Trimble Technical. The four victories represent a recent high for Fort Worth ISD," said Todd Vesely, executive director of athletics. "Further, we had a team advance in all three conferences in which Fort Worth ISD competes: 4A, 5A and 6A.
"Our 6A victory by Trimble Technical Lady Bulldog, in their first year at the highest conference, was a major upset. Trimble Technical entered the playoffs as a fourth seed. They defeated the first seed team, L. D. Bell.”
