Congratulations to all students who participated in this year's FWISD Spelling Bees. Ninety-five District students competed in a supportive environment while being engaged in the world of reading and writing.
Each Elementary and Middle School campus held campus spelling bees. The campus spelling bee champion or runner-up represented their school at their respective Area 1-6 Spelling Bee. FWISD’s Annual Area Spelling Bees were held at Western Hills HS Jan. 30 through Feb. 1, 2023.
The champion from each Area Spelling Bee represented their Area at the Regional Spelling Bee at TCU March 7, 2023.
Spelling Bees help children improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn new concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them for the rest of their lives.
Tyler Dean, FWISD Gifted and Talented Coordinator, says, “It is a joy to see students excited to represent their school and showcase what they have learned. The Gifted and Talented department is focused on helping students have an impact on the world around them. By giving them the opportunity to participate in the spelling bee, they not only build language and communication skills but highlight the amazing things they can do. “
Felicitaciones a los Participantes del Concurso de Ortografía 2023 de Fort Worth ISD
Felicitaciones a todos los estudiantes que participaron en este año en el Concurso de Ortografía de FWISD. 95 estudiantes compitieron en un ambiente de apoyo mientras participaban en el mundo de la lectura y la escritura.
Cada escuela de primaria y secundaria tuvo competencias de ortografía en el campus. El campeón o subcampeón de ortografía del campus representó a su escuela en su respectivo Concurso de Ortografía Área 1-6. El Concurso anual de ortografía de FWISD se llevó a cabo en la Secundaria Western Hills del 30 de enero al 1 de febrero de 2023.
El campeón de cada Competición representó a su área en el Concurso Regional de Ortografía en TCU el 7 de marzo de 2023.
Los Concursos de Ortografía ayudan a los niños a mejorar su ortografía, aumentar el vocabulario, aprender nuevos conceptos y desarrollar el uso correcto del inglés que les ayudará por el resto de sus vidas.
Tyler Dean, Coordinador del departamento Dotados y Talentosos (Gifted and Talented) dice: "Es una alegría ver a los estudiantes emocionados de representar a su escuela y mostrar lo que han aprendido. El Departamento de Dotados y Talentosos se enfoca en ayudar a los estudiantes a tener un impacto en el mundo que los rodea. Al darles la oportunidad de participar en concursos de ortografía, no solo desarrollan habilidades de lenguaje y comunicación, sino que también destacan las cosas increíbles que pueden hacer".
