FWISD Schools To Ice Skate At Panther Island Ice
FORT WORTH, TX – Thousands of Fort Worth ISD elementary students will have the chance to experience outdoor ice skating on this week thanks to a partnership between the Trinity River Vision Authority, Bank of Texas and Blue Zones Project.
FWISD Schools on Skates is a program which will allow students from 23 District elementary schools to experience ice skating at Panther Island Ice.
The Trinity River Vision Authority has partnered with Bank of Texas who have generously covered the cost of student transportation for the FWISD Schools on Skates program.
“We are proud to partner with Trinity River Vision Authority again this year to support Fort Worth ISD and ensure as many children as possible have the opportunity to enjoy Panther Island Ice,” said Mark Nurdin, Fort Worth Region President and CEO for Bank of Texas. “Panther Island Ice is becoming a holiday tradition for families in our community and we are looking forward to another exceptional year.”
Blue Zones Project - Fort Worth has also partnered to donate healthy snacks for students while they are at the ice rink.
“We are so excited to launch this program with the Trinity River Vision Authority and give some of our very deserving students a chance to experience one of Fort Worth’s newest holiday traditions,” said Tobi Jackson, FWISD Board President.
Panther Island Ice is located at Coyote Drive-In and will have the Downtown skyline as a picturesque backdrop. The ice rink is separate from the drive-in and a ticket to Coyote is not necessary to skate. However, Panther Island Ice patrons can still utilize the ample parking along with other Coyote amenities such as restrooms and the popular Coyote Canteen.
