New Principal Introduction

Parents and Families of W. A. Meacham Middle School,

My name is Oscar Martinez, and as the new Principal of Meacham Middle School, it has been my pleasure and honor to become a member of this great school community.  I am very passionate about education and I look forward to working together with you to provide our children with an excellent middle school experience. As a husband and the parent of two boys ages 11 and 14, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

Before joining Meacham Middle School, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 12 years, primarily with Fort Worth ISD. My roles have included teaching Pre-kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade as well as teaching adults ESL (English as second language) and GED courses.  My administrative experience includes O. D. Wyatt High School and Brewer High School in White Settlement ISD as an assistant principal.

Our administrative team, Mr. Escamilla and Ms. Ruiz, believes that what is most important for our students as learners is to have great educators. Our objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving exceptional instruction from every teacher at Meacham Middle School.  This will be accomplished by providing our teachers with feedback on their instructional practices, professional development, and leveraging all resources available to our students to support our academic goals.  We also believe that we have the very best students in our district, and it is a goal as an administrative team to celebrate our students’ accomplishments.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
