Trimble Tech Robotics Team Advances to Regional Championship
The Trimble Tech High School Robotics team is advancing to the regional championship after recently taking home top honors at the FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier (FTC), hosted at Tarrant County College.
The team’s first-place alliance finish -- shared with teams from Coram Deo Academy and Wedgwood Middle School -- qualified the group for regionals.
The robotics team at Trimble Tech is coached by Ronnie Cope and Dr. Steven Szyndler.
The team includes students in the electrical, auto technology and engineering programs. They are Jonathan Contreras, Juan Gomez, Saul Gonzalez, Roberto Guerrero, Anthony Hernandez, Crystal Hernandez, Ramon Ibarra, Rafael Juarez, Bryan Ramirez and Alberto Vega.
“I am proud of all the hard work our students contributed to preparing for the competition, even giving up two days of their Christmas break,” Mr. Cope said. “In addition, we have been practicing after school two days a week since September.”
The North Texas For Inspiration and Recognition of Science Technology (FIRST) Regional Championship is slated for February 10 in Wylie.
