FWISD Reaches Agreement In Principle for School Land
The Fort Worth ISD has reached an agreement in principle with Congregation Ahavath Shalom to purchase a parcel of land as the future home of a new elementary school to provide overcrowding relief at nearby Tanglewood Elementary.
“From the very beginning we had hoped to arrive at a fair resolution that is amicable to all parties,” said Superintendent Kent P. Scribner. “We are pleased for our children that this agreement provides a path for us to move forward with our design and construction plans.”
The agreement is subject to the approval of the Fort Worth ISD Board of Education, the Board of the Congregation and the Congregation itself, as well as on platting approval from the City of Fort Worth.
This item is currently scheduled to be presented for school trustees as early as Tuesday, February 13, for their consideration and approval.
