FWISD Celebrates Community Partners
Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth ISD Department of Community and Strategic Partnerships hosted the annual Partner Appreciation Luncheon on February 22, 2018, at The Ashton Depot for a crowd of over 300 community partners and District staff.
As a District, FWISD proclaims the great importance it places on community partnerships by hosting an annual luncheon where partnerships between Fort Worth ISD campuses and businesses, nonprofits, churches, civic organizations and higher education are celebrated.
The program featured three campus and District success stories, inspiring others to continue and recommit their relationships with campuses. Southwest High School AMP student, Jacob Wells, shared his perspective of the value of community partnerships by sharing an inspiring story of how community support has made a difference in his life.
Guests were greeted with music by the Trimble Technical High School String Ensemble, directed by Tony Regalado. In addition, the talented William Monnig VPA Mustang choir, under direction of Dr. Emily Saenz, performed three songs for the audience, ending with a tune entitled, “Thank You.”
Fort Worth ISD Superintendent, Dr. Kent P. Scribner, concluded the event with a sincere statement of gratitude to those in attendance. He stated, “We simply could not do our work without the support of our community partners. Everyone here is an important player in the academic and lifelong successes of our students.”
