Congratulations to Southwest High School students in the Gold Seal Program of Choice in Broadcast Journalism/Media Technology for their outstanding performance during last weekend's SkillsUSA competition. Students placed top three in the following categories: broadcast news production, T-shirt design, pin design, career pathways, community service, extemporaneous speaking, prepared speech, job skills demo, promotional bulletin board, and job interview. Twenty students will compete at the state competition in Corpus Christi at the end of March.

Another great performance at the Skills USA competition was by the Trimble Tech automotive students. They are headed to state after taking the top place in the automotive refinishing and collision damage appraisal category. Good luck to both teams.
