McLean 6th Wins Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz
Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth ISD’s McLean 6th Grade took the 2017-2018 Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz Championship title after defeating Daggett Montessori in the finals match Tuesday night.
Earlier in the evening, Daggett Montessori beat J.P. Elder in the first semi-final. McLean 6th topped the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) in the second semi-final.
Trustees Jacinto Ramos and Anael Luebanos were in the audience with principals and family members to cheer on the teams. CBS11 meteorologist Jeff Jamison was match moderator.
Culinary Arts students from North Side High School treated the audience to chicken and waffles, Thai salad cups and truffles. Pizza Snob, one of the District’s newest partners, sponsored the culinary contribution. The Southwest High School Jazz Ensemble entertained between matches. Gold Seal Advanced Media Program students at Southwest took part in the live production of the competition.

The first semi-finals will feature foods from Trimble Tech and O.D. Wyatt culinary students.
