McLean Wins Middle School Whiz Quiz
Fort Worth, Texas - In an exciting finish, McLean Middle School took Fort Worth ISD’s 2018-19 Whiz Quiz Championship title after defeating World Languages Institute (WLI) in the middle school finals Tuesday night.
Earlier, McLean beat Daggett Montessori in the first semi-final. WLI topped J.P. Elder Middle School in the second semi-final. CBS11 meteorologist Jeff Jamison moderated the matches.
Other highlights of the evening included:
- Culinary Arts students from Trimble Technical High School served turkey and vegetable tacos with a lemon cilantro slaw, street-style elotes, and horchata panna cotta. Kroger generously provided all the supplies.
- The Southwest High School Jazz Ensemble entertained between matches.
- Gold Seal Advanced Media Program students from Southwest took part in the live production.
