FWISD Tennis, Golf Teams Advance to Regionals
Multiple Fort Worth ISD high school tennis and golf teams will represent the District in UIL region competitions over the next couple weeks.
University Interscholastic League region tennis meets are scheduled statewide Wednesday, April 17-Saturday, April 20, weather permitting. Eight FWISD high schools will represent the District in tennis region meets in classes 4A, 5A and 6A, respectively.
Western Hills, Diamond Hill-Jarvis and Benbrook high schools are competing in Conference 4A Region 2 tennis meets April 17 and 18, at Longview High School and have qualified for the following matches:
- Girls Doubles -- Western Hills High School
- Girls Singles-- Diamond Hill-Jarvis High and Benbrook
South Hills, Arlington Heights, North Side and Southwest high schools are competing in Conference 5A Region 1 tennis meets April 17 and 18 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The high schools have qualified for the following matches:
- Boys Doubles: South Hills, North Side* and Southwest*
- Girls Doubles: South Hills, North Side, Arlington Heights* and Southwest*
- Mixed Doubles: South Hills and Arlington Heights
- Boys Singles: Arlington Heights, Southwest and South Hills*
- Girls Singles: South Hills and Arlington Heights
Paschal High school will represent the District in the Region 1 6A competition at the Arlington Tennis Center. The high school has qualified for the following matches:
- Girls Doubles
- Girls Singles
- Boys Singles*
*- denotes alternates
Seven high school golf teams are advancing to regionals. FWISD’s Paschal, Arlington Heights, South Hills, North Side, Carter-Riverside, Benbrook and Western Hills will represent the District in Classes 6A, 5A and 4A, respectively in Regional Spring Meets.
FWISD golf teams will compete in tournaments scheduled in April 22-25 in Grand Prairie (6A), Lubbock (Class 5A), and Canton (Class 4A), respectively.
