FWISD Playoff: Season continues for four FWISD teams
Four teams from Fort Worth ISD are marching on, as the bi-district playoffs open this week. Dunbar, North Side, Southwest and O.D. Wyatt punched their tickets to the postseason and now begin the march to state.
Dunbar (5-5) kicks it off with a Thursday night matchup against Stephenville (5-4) at Burleson ISD Stadium in 4A Division I. The winner faces the Argyle-Dallas Carter victor in the area round next week.
Three games are set for Friday night, all in 5A Division 2. North Side (5-5) officially ends its 40-year playoff drought with a home game against Wichita Falls (3-7) at Farrington Field. The winner gets the El Paso Parkland-El Paso Bowie winner.
Southwest (3-7) is on the road to play Wichita Falls Rider (6-4). The El Paso Austin-El Paso Hanks winner is up next.
O.D. Wyatt (3-7) qualified for the playoffs in the final week of the regular season. The Chaparrals also hit the road to tackle Lubbock Cooper (9-1), with the winner getting the survivor of El Paso Burges-El Paso Ysleta.
