FWISD TCC-South Campus Selected P-TECH Showcase School
The TCC South/ Fort Worth ISD Collegiate High School is a Texas Education Agency and Educate Texas P-TECH Showcase School, according to officials with the District’s Office of Innovation.
Early next year, the school will host a 4-hour showcase for visitors around the state including TEA and Educate Texas representatives and officials from schools interested in implementing a P-TECH program. FWISD’s TCC-South campus is among three schools in Texas selected this year to represent College and Career Readiness School models.
The P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) program at TCC-South/FWISD Collegiate High School is a Gold Seal Program of Choice that offers students the opportunity to graduate high school with up to 60 college credit hours, a two-year, tuition-free associate degree, internships and apprenticeships with industry partners. Students may choose from four pathways – electrical technology, renewable energy resources, lineman program, and energy business related work—and earn work credentials such as licenses or certificates all while in high school.
“The TCC South P-TECH school of choice offers students the opportunity to receive an associate’s degree along with industry certifications as well as work-based learning with our industry partners Fort Worth Water and Oncor to prepare students for the future,” said Amy Penrose-Draper, TCC-South/Fort Worth ISD Collegiate High School College and Career Readiness coordinator.
