Fort Worth ISD’s I.M. Terrell Academy Inducts Inaugural Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Class

Fort Worth ISD’s I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA recently inducted 10 members into its Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Lin-Manuel Miranda chapter.
Inductees were presented with certificates to commemorate their achievements, and five members received honor cords.

Named for the award-winning musician, actor, producer and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, the chapter celebrates his contribution to the arts. Members in I.M. Terrell’s Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica include high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese courses, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
Invitations are extended to students who have a 3.5 overall GPA, an A average in all Spanish classes (must complete a minimum of three years of Spanish), or who’ve achieved a minimum 3 score on the Spanish Language and Culture Advanced Placement exam.
In addition to the inaugural class, honorary memberships were extended to FWISD Superintendent Kent Scribner,FWISD Talent Management Chief Dr.Raúl Peña, I.M.Terrell Principal Baldwin Brown and Associate Principal Lynsey Charles.
