Fort Worth ISD Students Learn About Drones – and Share the Experience LIVE with Other School Districts

This week the Fort Worth ISD engaged an enthusiastic group of elementary students in the fast-growing area of drone technology. Educators from nine other North Texas school districts watched a live, online event showing off the exciting new programming.  Several of the District’s industry partners were also in the audience.

All of the participating districts, including FWISD, are a part of the North Central Texas Aerial Robotics Initiative.

A grant has allowed FWISD to implement drone instruction in its STEM and Law Enforcement educational programs. Additional programming will be added next year.

Meanwhile, students from Glen Park Elementary School converged on a FWISD STEM trailer to learn more.  Southwest High School AV students used their production bus to facilitate live feeds from the site to teachers who were gathered at the Education Service Center Region XI across town.
