Teaching Chair Ann-Denise Anderson Uses Art to Inspire and Spark Creativity
Watch this video for an inspirational minute with Mrs. Anderson
Ann-Denise Anderson, art teacher at Polytechnic High School, remembers the role models who inspired her when she was in school. That is why she is laser-focused on inspiring her students every day.
Each weekday between now and winter break, we are sharing brief words of wisdom and inspiration from the Fort Worth ISD 2022 - 2023 Academic Chairs for Teaching Excellence.
Ann-Denise Anderson is the Angela D. Paulos Chair for Teaching Excellence in Visual Arts. She has a master’s degree from Western Governors University, a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, and 15 years of teaching experience.
Growing up, Mrs. Anderson had teachers whose support and encouragement led her to become an artist. That is why her teaching philosophy comes from the heart.
“I make it my purpose and mission to connect with every student, because my students give more to their projects and contribute verbally without hesitation when I make our classroom a comforting, loving and dedicated place to release all inhibitions.”
Watch Ann-Denise Anderson share the story of the two teachers who changed the course of her life.
