Daggett Montessori Wins Middle School Whiz Quiz
In a nail-biting finish, Fort Worth ISD’s Daggett Montessori took the 2017-2018 Whiz Quiz Championship title after defeating Stripling Middle School in the finals Wednesday night. The score was 280-260.
Earlier, Daggett Montessori beat William James Middle School in the first semi-final. Stripling topped Kirkpatrick Middle School in the second semi-final.
Highlights of the evening included:
- Culinary Arts students from Trimble Technical High School served buffalo chicken pinwheels, cauliflower soup, avocado salsa verde with chips, and strawberry shortcake to the audience. Pizza Snob generously provided all the supplies.
- The Southwest High School Jazz Ensemble entertained between matches, and Gold Seal Advanced Media Program students from Southwest took part in the live production.
- Superintendent Kent P. Scribner joined families, principals and friends in cheering on the students
- Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy moderated the matches.

The first semi-final will feature more treats from the Pizza Snob Kitchen – prepared by O.D. Wyatt High School’s culinary students. CBS 11 meteorologist Jeff Jamison will serve as moderator.
