Three FWISD Students Selected to All-State Band Ensembles
Three Fort Worth ISD seniors will represent the District in all-state band ensembles at the annual Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic/Convention next month in San Antonio.
The following students earned all-state ensemble selections:
- Ismael Sanchez, a trumpet player at Trimble Tech High School will perform with the All-State Band. Earnest Colvin is the band director at Trimble Tech.
- Paschal High School students Robert Nyul, a trumpet player, and Daniel Teichler, a tenor trombone player, are performing with the All-State Jazz Band. Matthew Sawyer leads the Jazz Band at Paschal High.
Dick Clardy, FWISD director of instrumental music, recently congratulated the students and their directors on their all-state selections.
“These students, Ismael, Robert, and Daniel are to be commended for their musical investment in themselves and in their music programs,” he said. “The student’s obvious talent and hard work along with the teacher’s nurturing of their journey are equal components to their success!”
All-State concerts, which include the state’s top music performers, are slated for Saturday, February 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. The TMEA Clinic/Convention is slated for February 14-17.
