Fort Worth ISD Trustee Wallace Bridges, special guest FWISD Superintendent Angélica M. Ramsey, Forest Hill Mayor Stephanie Boardingham, and Principal Delain Sandifer welcomed friends at a festive event Friday, Sept. 30, celebrating. David K. Sellars Elementary School’s “A” state accountability rating.
David K. Sellars Elementary students remained committed to excellence and worked hard to achieve the “A” rating. Accordingly, “Mattic Mustangs Maintain Momentum: Celebrating an “A” Rated Campus” was the theme for the celebration last Friday.
Remarks were presented at 5:30 p.m., and fun, music, and refreshments followed. The Forest Hill Police kindly grilled and served hotdogs to more than 200 attendees. A group of students performed as part of the District’s continued National Hispanic Heritage month celebration, and the O.D. Wyatt Drum line and Sellars cheerleaders energized the crowd. Take a look at the event photos and video.
Early in the 2021-2022 school year, beloved Sellars principal Mr. Steven Mattic passed away. Many of his family members were present at Friday’s festivity, including his mother, who shared a beautiful tribute to him. She spoke about his love for the campus, staff, and students. She said, “This celebration of achievement is exactly as he would have wanted it.”
Tashara Parker, WFAA news reporter and anchor, served as master of ceremonies for the celebration and kept things rolling!
