Family Action Center Distributes 1,000 Family Food Boxes At J. Martin Jacquet Middle School

The Fort Worth ISD Family Action Center recently worked in partnership with World Relief North Texas to distribute 1,000 family food boxes at J. Martin Jacquet Middle School.

The boxes, distributed the week of June 15, contained healthy fruits, vegetables and dairy products that several dozen volunteers helped load into the vehicles of vulnerable families and individuals in need. Additional boxes were hand-delivered to several low-income apartments in east and southeast Fort Worth to serve people without transportation to the school.

The Family Action Center, which is a part of the Division of Equity and Excellence, along with World Relief enlisted the help of several volunteer groups who donated their time and effort to make the event a success, including Brighter Outlook Inc., Christland Baptist Church, Compass Church, Generation Uplift, Lisa’s Little Angels and the Fort Worth Police Department.

Additionally, several administrators and staff from Jacquet and Dunbar High School chipped in to help. Throughout the morning, several former FWISD students from Young Men’s Leadership Academy and Dunbar worked tirelessly to ensure a steady flow of traffic until all the boxes were distributed. The Family Action Center is working with World Relief to conduct additional Family Food Box distributions this summer, so visit and follow the FWISD Family Action Center on Facebook to stay abreast of future events.
