WLI Senior receives full scholarship to Stanford University

Jesus Paredes, our presumptive salutatorian of the Class of 2020 has just been matched by the QuestBridge Foundation to attend Stanford University, on a full scholarship.  The QuestBridge National College Match is a college and scholarship application process that helps outstanding low-income high school seniors gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation’s most selective colleges.  His academic excellence includes all Honors, Pre-AP, AP and OnRamps classes. Additionally, Jesus has been recognized as a National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) Scholar by the College Board.

QuestBridge's highly selective process begins in a student's junior year, when a teacher or school administrator nominates students who qualify financially and academically to the program.

The program pairs high-achieving, low-income students with scholarships to some of the nation's top colleges including schools like Amherst, Brown, Columbia, Duke, Stanford and Yale, according to a news release from QuestBridge.
