Fort Worth ISD Trustees Honored During School Board Recognition Month

January is School Board Recognition Month in Texas, a time to thank board members for their dedication and support of teachers, staff, and students. This year’s statewide theme is “Rising Above.” As the Texas Association of School Board website explains: “[The] theme is… especially apt right now, given that many school board members are facing unprecedented challenges in trying to navigate controversial topics in K-12 education.”

The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education will be formally honored at the Tuesday, January 25 board meeting. However, throughout the month, the District will show their appreciation in many creative ways.

Many schools will feature a special message of appreciation on their campus marquees. Some students will write thank you notes for the service given by board members. Others may create posters or artwork.

And all through January, the Fort Worth ISD and campus websites will feature photos that pay tribute to board members.
