FWISD’s “Summer Link” Offers Graduates Last-Minute College Help

Fort Worth ISD encourages its graduating seniors to prepare for college by utilizing the District’s Summer Link program.

This outreach program provides recent graduates with essential resources for a successful transition into postsecondary success. From June to August, graduates receive personal phone calls and email messages from District personnel offering support to ensure they start college prepared.

Many high school graduates accepted into college never actually enroll in school.

Part of the reason is the decisions and work associated with housing applications, financial aid needs and additional required documentation for enrollment. Fortunately, studies have shown that with just a little extra support during the summer prior to college, there can be a positive impact on the number of students who actually complete enrollment.

FWISD’s Summer Link is here to provide that needed support.

Summer Link advisers will contact graduates prior to graduation.

Graduates with additional questions are encouraged to contact the FWISD Collegiate Programming and Advisement office at 817-814-1561.
