BMHS UV4C Group Launches 21 Days of Gratitude
Benbrook Middle-High School’s United Voices 4 Change group is encouraging its campus to participate in 21 days of gratitude.
For 21 days, the student group is asking its peers and school staff to join them in recording three different things they’re grateful for each day and why. Participants are also encouraged to capture the things they’re grateful for in photos so that they have a visual record.
The wellness project is the first this school year for Benbrook Middle High’s UV4C, a student club focused on promoting a positive and productive campus culture. The project is based on “The happy secret to better work,” a TED Talk by positive psychology author, Shawn Achor.
There are UV4C clubs at high schools across the District.
Benbrook Middle-High School’s UV4C club is just one of several clubs within FWISD that have recently launched service and wellness projects. Over at Dunbar High School, UV4C students recently hosted a Cancer Awareness Gallery Walk. The event included projects about important cancer facts, myths, and people that have battled or succumbed to the disease. The event also included a small balloon release.
Recently, approximately 400 District students participated in the UV4C Youth Leadership Summit at the Cedera Center. The November 9 event was an opportunity for UV4C student groups to plan programs for addressing issues on their individual campuses.
