Patriot Day 2018
Fort Worth, Texas - The Fort Worth ISD will officially observe Patriot Day on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. A memorial display has been established in the lobby of the Central Administration Building by the Fort Worth JROTC Department.
At 7:55 a.m. at the Fort Worth ISD Administration Building, JROTC will assist with the retirement of the flag that has flown over the building since 2016. The ceremony will include brief remarks by Superintendent Kent P. Scribner and JROTC Director LTC (RET) Richard Crossley.
Ceremonies at individual campuses will take place primarily before classes begin, usually near the flag pole or front of the school building and depending on the weather.
North Side High School - 7:50 a.m.
Dunbar High School – 8 a.m.
Trimble Tech High School – 8:30 a.m.
Polytechnic High School – 8 a.m.
Paschal High School – 10:10 a.m.
Eastern Hills High School – 9:15 a.m.
Diamond Hill - Jarvis High School 8 a.m.
Carter-Riverside High School – 7:45 a.m.
South Hills High School – 8 a.m.
Southwest High School – 8:45 a.m.
Benbrook Middle/High School – 8:15 a.m.
O.D. Wyatt High School – 8:45 a.m.
Western Hills High School – 9 a.m.
By a joint resolution, approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day," and by Public Law 111-13, approved April 21, 2009, the Congress has requested the observance of September 11 as an annually recognized "National Day of Service and Remembrance."
In accordance with those directives all U.S. flags flown at Fort Worth ISD schools and buildings will be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset (or close of business) on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
