FWISD To Host In-Person, Virtual Financial Aid Help Sessions This Saturday
What: In-person and virtual College Financial Aid Help Sessions
When & Where: Saturday, February 27 in-person at the Tarrant County College Trinity River East and South campuses and virtually
Summary (Wednesday, February 24, 2021) --: The Fort Worth ISD will host simultaneous in-person and virtual college Financial Aid Help Sessions, Saturday, February 27.
From 9 a.m. to noon, high school students and their families can receive one-on-one assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/ Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) application in-person at the Tarrant County College Trinity River East and South campuses or virtually. Space is limited.
All interested students must pre-register for an event and specific time slot to participate. Click here to start the registration process.
Once registered, students will receive an email with additional details about their scheduled session. Students appearing for virtual sessions will receive an email Friday, February 26, with a link to their scheduled session. Students attending the in-person Financial Aid Help Session, will receive an email with a TCC map that includes parking and building location details.
Sessions at TCC-Trinity River East are being held at the campus café, while sessions at TCC-South will take place in the gymnasium at the South Health and Physical Education (SHPE) building.
District officials and Financial Aid Help Sessions participants will adhere to COVID-19 social distancing and safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the in-person events. All participants must wear masks.
Parents and students are encouraged to have the following items on hand to complete the FAFSA/TASFA forms:
- Federal Student Aid PIN* (click here to create a pin)
- Social Security number*
- Driver’s license number
- 2019 Tax records* — or use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool
- 2019 W-2 information for student and parent
- Records of untaxed income*
- Records of all assets (savings and checking account balances)
- List of the school(s) the student is interested in attending
- Personal or District-issued computer
*= Mandatory documents needed to complete the FAFSA/TASFA forms
This is the second District-sponsored Financial Aid Help Session this month. An all-virtual event was hosted, Saturday, February 20.
