Encouraging student attendance and accelerated learning

Are you ready for the summer? Fort Worth ISD students are! They are ready to accelerate their learning by attending one or more of the 25 summer programs offered this year.

With so many program options available, including regular summer school, bilingual, career and technical education, enrichment, and special education, students will have plenty to explore, learn, and discover!

Summer learning kicks off this Monday, June 6. Join FWISD staff at 7:50 a.m. as they welcome summer school students and their parents at M.H. Moore Elementary, 1809 N.E. 36th in Fort Worth.

Summer school families will be greeted with free backpacks and water bottles, courtesy of Atmos Energy. Parents will then be directed to the auditorium, where FWISD Superintendent Kent P. Scribner will provide opening remarks. Be sure to stick around for Principal Ricardo Alvarez Uzcategui’s pep talk on the importance of summer school attendance and how it accelerates student learning and remediates learning loss due to COVID.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the STEM Trailer, and the Fort Worth ISD Bookmobile will be on display, promoting planned enrichment opportunities for our students this summer.

Have you heard? All summer school host sites will serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to the students. Transportation will be provided. Please visit for bus routes and additional information, including summer school times and locations.
