AHHS Cheerleaders Compete in Spirit State Championship

The cheer squad from Fort Worth ISD’s Arlington Heights High School recently made its first appearance in the 5A finals of UIL’s Spirit State Championship.

Overall, Arlington Heights finished eighth in the University Interscholastic League state contest held January 17-19 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The squad finished first in fight song routine, clinching gold, ninth in band chant and 13th in crowd leading during the preliminary round of competition.  AHHS Cher qualified for finals after finishing seventh out of 55 teams in the prelims round.ahhscheer

The AHHS Cheer coaches are Kim Lopez, Averi Ruiz and Ari Mizell.  

The squad is slated to compete in the National High School Cheerleading Championship February 8-10 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
