What: Online Information Session about FWISD Pre-K and Kindergarten
When: Wednesday, April 28 (English) and Thursday, April 29 (Spanish); 6-7 p.m. both nights

Did you know
- 90% of a child’s brain develops by the time he or she is five years old?
- Children learn more quickly during their early years than any other time in life?
- High-quality early childhood education programs can improve a child’s chances for success in later life?
The Fort Worth ISD will host two online information sessions for parents–on Wednesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 29 -- about the importance of Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Attendees will also learn why FWISD’s Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms provide a solid foundation for the future.
The Zoom meetings will take place from 6-7 p.m. on both evenings and can be joined by going to www.fwisd.org/PreKInfo .
Attendees on both evenings who stay for the entire presentation will be eligible for door prizes; including gift certificates from Kroger and Central Market, and “family-friendly” baskets that include wireless ear buds, computer mouse, and other cool items.
Pre-K registration is underway now for the 2021-22 school year (for children who are four or who will be four by September 1,) as well as for Kindergarten (for children who are not currently enrolled in the District.)
Besides the “how-to” of registration, parents will learn:
- How Pre-K dramatically impacts a child’s development
- Why it matters which Pre-K program parents choose for their children
- Where high-quality early childhood instruction in Fort Worth can be found in both Pre-K and Kindergarten
There will be time for questions and answers during the sessions.
The session on Wednesday, April 28 will be presented in English (with Spanish interpretation available) and the Thursday, April 29 event will be presented in Spanish (with English interpretation available on the site.)
Fort Worth ISD Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers are certified in early childhood instruction by the state of Texas – a designation not required by charter or private schools. They receive an extra 30 hours training annually. This additional training equips our educators with the latest tools to give young students the right balance of structure and play in their education.
