Waverly Park Elementary School to Unveil New Garden Thanks to TWRD Grant
Last week Waverly Park Elementary School announced the unveiling of a brand-new garden area and outdoor seating/learning space, set to benefit its 100 Pre-K students. This exciting development is made possible through the generous support of a Tarrant Regional Water District (TWRD) Conservation grant.
The community was invited to participate in a remarkable event celebrating the new garden. Activities included building raised planting beds, filling them with soil, planting seeds, constructing benches, and a bit of good old-fashioned gardening.
Recently, the school embraced a creative Pre-K curriculum that thrives in an outdoor setting. The introduction of native plants and raised garden beds allows for a more hands-on and experiential approach to education.
