Black History Month: FWISD Celebrates Kirk Franklin
In honor of Black History Month, the Fort Worth ISD is celebrating local and national African American trailblazers of the past, present and future.
On this Music Monday, we kick off our celebration of Black History Month recognizing O.D. Wyatt High School alumnus Kirk Franklin.On Sunday, Feb. 5, he received three GRAMMYs for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, Best Gospel Album, and Best Gospel Performance/Song at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards in in Los Angeles, California.
The 19-time GRAMMY winner released his debut album “Kirk Franklin and the Family” in 1993. Over the last three decades, he’s released more than a dozen studio albums. Mr. Franklin is one of the biggest music artists/songwriters/producers in gospel music.
