18 Fort Worth ISD Soccer Teams Set to Compete in Playoffs

The UIL State soccer playoffs get underway on Thursday, Mar. 23 and Fort Worth ISD has plenty of boys’ and girls’ teams to cheer for in the postseason. The Regional Tournaments will take place April 7-8 with the 6A schools competing at McKinney ISD Stadium, the 5A schools competing at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, and the 4A schools competing at Northwest ISD Stadium. The State Tournament takes place April 12-15 at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown. Be sure to get out and cheer on Fort Worth ISD teams in the bi-district round on Mar. 23-24. 

In 6A, both Paschal boys’ and girls’ teams made the postseason. The Paschal boys (14-7-1) take on Keller Timber Creek on Friday, Mar. 24 at 8 p.m. at the Crowley ISD Sports Complex. If Paschal wins, the Panthers will face the winner of El Paso El Dorado and Midland Legacy in the area round. The Paschal girls (11-10-2) face Byron Nelson in the bi-district round on Friday, Mar. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Saginaw High School. If Paschal wins, it will face the winner of El Paso Franklin and Midland in the area round. 

Four Fort Worth ISD boys’ teams made the playoffs in 5A. O.D. Wyatt (19-2-2) takes on Northwest on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Everman High School. If the District 6-5A Champions beat Northwest, O.D. Wyatt will face the winner of Grapevine and Midlothian Heritage in the area round. North Side (14-4-2) faces Aledo in the bi-district round on Friday, Mar. 24. at 8 p.m. at FWISD’s Clark Stadium. North Side hopes to advance to face the winner of Lake Dallas and Cleburne.

Arlington Heights (15-6-2) takes on Wichita Falls Rider on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7 p.m. at Mineral Wells High School. The winner of that game will face the winner of Denton Ryan and Midlothian. Rounding out 5A, South Hills (11-8-2) faces Brewer on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7 p.m. at FWISD’s Scarborough-Handley Field for the right to face the winner of Colleyville Heritage and Burleson Centennial in the area round.

Fort Worth ISD is also sending four boys soccer teams to the playoffs in 4A. Diamond Hill-Jarvis (23-1-1) takes on Lake Worth on Thursday, Mar. 23 at 7 p.m. at FWISD’s Scarborough-Handley Field. The Eagles won District 7-4A for the second year in a row and hope to face the winner of Kennedale and Brownwood in the area round. Western Hills (16-5) faces Decatur on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Springtown’s Porcupine Stadium for the right to face the winner of Gatesville and Life Waxahachie in the area round. 

Carter-Riverside takes on Bridgeport on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Azle High School. If Carter-Riverside wins, it will face the winner of Salado and Venus in the area round. Benbrook takes on Castleberry on Friday, Mar. 24. at 8 p.m. at FWISD’s Farrington Field. The winner faces the winner of Stephenville and Alvarado in the area round.

The girls are well represented in 5A with four teams qualifying for the playoffs. Arlington Heights (15-5-1) won its district and didn’t allow a goal in district play in the process. The Lady Jackets faces Granbury in the bi-district round on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7 p.m. at Kangaroo Stadium in Weatherford. If Arlington Heights wins, it will face the winner of Argyle and Midlothian Heritage in the area round. North Side takes on Aledo on Friday, Mar. 24 at 6 p.m. at FWISD’s Clark Stadium for the right to face the winner of Colleyville Heritage and Midlothian.

South Hills faces Northwest in the bi-district round on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7 p.m. at Boswell High School. If it advances, South Hills would face the winner of Grapevine and Joshua. Trimble Tech takes on Wichita Falls Rider on Thursday, Mar. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls. The winner of Thursday night’s contest will face the winner of Birdville and Burleson Centennial. 

Fort Worth ISD has four schools in the 4A girls’ soccer playoffs, giving the district a total of 18 boys and girls soccer teams in the playoffs. Benbrook (14-5-2) won its district and faces Castleberry on Friday, Mar. 24 at 6 p.m. at FWISD’s Farrington Field as a result. Benbrook went undefeated in district play and hopes to face the winner of Brownwood and Godley in the area round. Diamond Hill-Jarvis takes on Springtown on Friday, Mar. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Lake Worth High School for the right to face the winner of China Spring and Life Waxahachie in the area round.

Carter-Riverside faces Bridgeport on Friday, Mar. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Azle High School for the right to face the winner of Stephenville and Ferris. Eastern Hills takes on Decatur on Friday, Mar. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Springtown’s Porcupine Stadium. Eastern Hills hopes to face the winner of Salado and Alvarado in the area round.

The North Side, South Hills, Benbrook, and Diamond Hill-Jarvis boys all host playoff games at FWISD stadiums. On the girls’ side, North Side and Benbrook host playoff games in Fort Worth as well. The Carter-Riverside boys and girls play a double-header at Azle High School on Friday with the girls kicking things off at 5:30 p.m. Springtown’s Porcupine Stadium will host another FWISD double-header on Friday with the Eastern Hills girls playing at 5:30 p.m. and the Western Hills boys competing directly following the Eastern Hills game.
