FWISD Announces 2020 Football Ticketing Policy
Updated ticketing procedures for Fort Worth ISD football games will reflect health and social distancing guidelines promoting a safe and enjoyable experience for all fans this season. Among the changes are online ticketing, face covering requirements and a clear bag policy.
All ticket purchases are only available online at fwisd.org/tickets and will not be offered on site at District stadiums. Fans are also required to wear face coverings and only allowed to bring clear bags into stadiums. These policies are available at fwisd.org/Page/25322.
“In order to stay within the UIL guidelines and all the other health guidelines, we have to minimize the amount of contact within people, therefore everything is designed to move people in and out of stadiums as quickly as we can without contact,” said Todd Vesely, FWISD executive director of Athletics.
Stadium seating capacities will also be limited to accommodate social distancing. Online ticketing also allows District officials to keep an accurate count of fans inside stadiums. Clear bags aide in the flow of fans entering.
“We are trying to minimize contact and not have people standing in line to get it,” Mr. Vesely said. “We’re trying to keep people moving, so with the clear bags, it’s much easier to identify and keep everyone safe. We’re trying to do everything we can to try to provide as safe an environment as we can for as many people as we can.”
Mr. Vesely added that the current procedures could be modified with the safety of the District community in mind.
“If there’s one thing we’ve learned through all this process is things are going to change, so we’re trying to stay flexible and nimble to adjust our processes as needed,” he said.
Week three of the 2020 FWISD football schedule opened Thursday.
