Junior League of Fort Worth is FWISD Partner

#ThankYouThursday Features the Junior M.I.N.T.S.

Fort Worth ISD is celebrating #ThankYouThursday with a series of inspiring stories of how campuses, the District and their many partners are working together to positively impact student lives.

You can’t put a price on the value of one-on-one mentorship.  Two years ago members of Fort Worth’s Junior Leaguebegan mentoring students at four Fort Worth ISD schools: Western Hills Primary, Western Hills Elementary, Eastern Hills Elementary, and the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. They all comprise the Junior M.I.N.T.S.  That stands for Mentor, Inspire, Nurture, Tutor, and Support.

The Junior M.I.N.T.S. volunteers spend time with students who might need a little extra help in reading or math, or even in developing social skills.  The Junior League also supports the schools with Literacy Nights and field trips.

At the District’s annual Partner Appreciation Luncheon, Western Hills Primary Principal Sonya Kelly spoke on behalf of all four schools that are benefitting from the work of the Junior M.I.N.T.S. delivering her thanks – and a framed thumbprint collage from the 100 students who were able to attend a field trip to Bass Hall because of support from the M.I.N.T.S.
