ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems Employees Donate School Supplies to Bonnie Brae ES
Fort Worth, Texas - ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems, Inc. employees are making sure students at Fort Worth ISD’s Bonnie Brae Elementary School have the supplies they’ll need this school year.
The employees donated money and school supplies including: binders, backpacks, calculators, crayons, composition books, erasers, folders, glue, markers, notebooks, paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, pens and rulers as well as antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer and tissues to Bonnie Brae Elementary School.
“Our employees embrace the company’s commitment to the Fort Worth community, and we wanted to do our part to help our local children start the school year off right,” said Mark Jones, president of ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems (TKAS). “Our employees understand the importance of education and I am proud they’re helping to build a stronger community by donating needed school supplies and money.”
Jones joined 20 ThyssenKrupp employees on August 12 to deliver $4,334 in school supplies and money to Samantha Gonzalez, the school’s principal.
“Our families and teachers are honored to receive such a generous donation from the employees of ThyssenKrupp,” said Gonzalez. “The start of a new school year is always a busy time for children and their families, so having extra school supplies will be a great help to everyone.”
This community outreach was an employee-driven initiative organized by the TKAS Cares Committee, a philanthropic employee group whose projects include donations of food, pet supplies and toys to the Fort Worth community.
TKAS manufactures, installs and maintains passenger boarding bridges at airports in North, Central and South America.
