District 9-4A Track & Field Championship Day 2

Posted by Coach Clark on 4/14/2023

The varsity boys and girls track team completed day 2 of competition in the 9-4A District Track and Field Championships yesterday at Clark Stadium, setting eight personal records. The girls' team finished third in the team standings. The boys' team dominated the meet, scoring 216 points and bringing home the 9-4A District Championship.

The 4 x 100-meter relay team of Armani Perry-Brown, Aaron Martin, Kaream Williams, and Kemarrius Mayes got things started with a 1st place victory and setting a new school record with a time of 42.54. Aaron Martin set a new school record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.57, breaking the old school record he previously held of 10.82. The boys' team also got 1st place in the 4 x 200 meter and 4 x 400 meter relays.

I want to give a huge shout out to the track coaching staff of Coach Pritchett, Coach Maehs, Coach Foster, and Coach Sutton. Without them, none of the success the athletes are achieving would be possible.
