Good morning, Fort Worth ISD family! I hope this message finds you well and ready to start the week.

I am excited to share some of the great work coming out of the Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships team. I am charged with leading and supporting the work of the Family Engagement Department, Family Resource Centers, Family Action Center, Fort Worth After School, Adult Education, Health Services, Community Partnerships, Research, Enrollment, and Strategic Initiatives.

This team of committed people believes our opportunity to serve our students extends past the walls of our schools. Fort Worth ISD schools are the community schools of Fort Worth. We exist in every neighborhood and serve all students and their families. Indeed, that is what makes us different from all other choices available in Fort Worth. If it takes a village to educate a child, then FWISD is here to help lift up the entire village to support that child.

The success of Fort Worth is tied to the success of Fort Worth ISD. We are the foundation of education in this city. Only public schools can meet all these needs and only Fort Worth ISD can do that in Fort Worth. It’s time we come together to make this possible. The Strategic Initiatives and Partnership Department is here to work with our staff, schools, departments, and external partners to make that happen.

Week At-a-Glance

First of all, I want to invite you to be an active participant in the building of the FWISD Strategic Plan. We will have in-person, virtual, and written (survey) opportunities to provide feedback. I invite you to visit our website to get more information about where we are in the process. You will also find information about the upcoming community meetings. This website will be updated with information as we gather it from our stakeholders.

I will start the week at the Teacher and Learning Center. The Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships team will work with Learning and Leading to facilitate the Strategic Plan community feedback meeting protocol with members of the Learning and Leading staff. The process will serve as an opportunity for these team members to provide feedback while also helping us prepare for the first community meeting.

The afternoon will be spent with members of the Superintendent's Cabinet. I will end my evening at Southwest High School. The first of 15 Strategic Plan community meetings will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Southwest High School cafeteria.

Don’t forget to join us at one of the Strategic Planning community meetings. We will also be offering a Saturday and virtual session. A survey seeking feedback will also be sent out to all staff.

On Tuesday, I get to spend time with my leadership team during our weekly meeting. They share all the great work going on in our schools and department. We will also focus on how we will engage with families in the coming enrollment cycle.

I will spend my evening at our monthly board meeting.
