Information for Attendees

Arrival and Parking

Doors open 1 hour before the ceremony for guests.
Graduation parking is free.
Large crowds are expected, so plan to arrive early to find parking and seats before the graduation ceremony begins.

Park in Lot 1, Lot 4, or in the green zones shown on the map. Click on the map to expand.

Enter the building at the southeast corner of Building 3, at the intersection of I.M. Terrell Way and Chambers St.

Tickets and Seating

Tickets are not required and there is no limit on the number of guests per graduate.
Seating is first come, first served.

Cameras

Personal cameras and video recording are allowed as long as guests remain in their seats and do not block the view of others. Tripods are not permitted.

Translations and Livestreams

Spanish and ASL interpreting is available via livestream for guests on our Youtube channel. The link is available as a QR code in the graduation program.
Guests requiring translation support should bring their own headphones to listen to the Youtube broadcast.
We ask that guests do not try to log on to the WiFi at the venues so the network does not slow down and allows the district to livestream the events.

Safety and Prohibited Items

All graduates, parents, and guests will pass through a metal detector or security screening before entering the facility.

The following items are not allowed in the venue and are strictly prohibited:

Noisemakers (such as air horns, cowbells, or whistles)
Signs (including posters and banners)
Beach balls, balloons
Confetti
And similar items

Bag Policy

Only small or clear bags are allowed.
Bags and personal items may be inspected upon entry.
Please limit what you bring.

Flowers

Flowers are allowed at I.M. Terrell, but glass vases are not allowed.

After Graduation

Due to the constrained graduation schedule, guests are respectfully requested to depart the facility promptly and in an orderly manner following the conclusion of the ceremony.

Graduates will be available to meet outside, as gatherings within the building are not permitted.

Before Graduation

Graduation Caps

Graduates may only decorate the top of their cap. No objects may hang from the cap or extend one-fourth inch above the headgear.
Profanity, inappropriate content, lights, or confetti are strictly prohibited.
Graduates who violate decorative guidelines will receive an alternative cap to wear during the ceremony.
Caps must be worn with the tassel on the right at the beginning of the ceremony.

Regalia

Graduates may wear heritage stoles, cords, medals, and national honor society stoles as approved by campus.
Flags draped over graduation gowns are not allowed.

Graduate Attire

Young Men

Cap and gown
White button-down shirt with collar
Black or navy slacks
Dark dress shoes (no sandals)
Ties are recommended.
Sports coats are allowed but not required.

Young Women

Cap and gown
White collar, blouse, dress, skirt, slacks
Dress shoes

Prohibited for All students:

Jeans and tennis shoes

Day of Graduation
