Personal Communication Device Restrictions Policy
Phones Away. Minds Engaged. Learning First.
Purpose and Legal Requirements
In accordance with Texas House Bill 1481 and Fort Worth ISD District Policy FNCE (LOCAL), Fort Worth ISD prohibits student use of personal communication devices during the instructional day. This requirement is designed to maximize learning, minimize distractions, and create safe and focused learning environments for all students.
We encourage all families to review the updated Personal Communication Device Policy and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below. These resources outline student expectations, consequences for violations, safety and emergency communication procedures, and available medical exceptions.

The student's personal communication device must remain at home for the entire confiscation period.
If the student brings a device to school before the period ends, it will be confiscated, the offense will advance to the next offence letter, and the device must remain on campus for the duration of the new confiscation period.
Option 2

The student's personal communication device will be secured by the campus for the entire confiscation period and released only after the period ends, in accordance with district procedures.
